Mr. Saunders has been teaching at the Georgia School for the Deaf in Social Studies for the past 13 years. He is highly qualified and certified in Deaf Education (P-12), Economics, History, and Political Science (9-12). Mr. Saunders is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh (B.A. in History and M.Ed in Deaf Education).  He also has an Educational Specialist degree from Nova Southeastern University.

Mr. Saunders enjoys spending time with his wife, Jamie Saunders and their three children in his free time along with his love for reading books, watching Pittsburgh team sports (baseball, football, hockey) and traveling to new places! 

Mr. Saunders is profoundly deaf and believes that all students who is deaf or hard of hearing can succeed in any classroom no matter what the obstacles are.  He believes in standard-based classroom teaching that are effective for deaf students in order to provide them the most optimal and ideal learning environment. Any student who comes in his class are expected to perform up to his/her potential for learning in the area of social studies.
